A message from your Principal

Welcome, Pre-K families, to the 2021-2022 school year. We are so happy you are here with us. One of my deepest beliefs is that families are the child’s first teacher. On behalf of the teachers, staff, and myself, I want to share how excited we are to work alongside you to nurture and educate your child this year. We look forward to working together and collaborating with open communication to support the early childhood education of your amazing children. Please see our program vision below that we strive to meet each day:

DREAM’s Pre-K is a place for children to develop a life-long love of learning through equitable classroom cultures, child-centered authentic learning experiences, and respect for all children and families

Hi Families,

Happy Friday! I hope you are all doing well. I wanted to share information on a free yearly subscription to Noggin, Nickelodeon's education App. The app has been loaded onto the Pre-K tablets (you might need to sign in and out for it to load) and I will attach to this email the directions on how to make an account and sign in! This is a great resource for learning at home and can support students' growth throughout the year. We hope you are able to take advantage of this opportunity.

Dear DREAM Pre-K Families,

Welcome to school! We will start our year with Get Ready to Learn! The goal of this unit is to help your child successfully join classmates and teachers in our pre-kindergarten classroom. Your child will learn strategies for relaxing and learning at school, as well as school safety. For example, what adults should I listen to? How do I learn in group activities? How do we walk from place to place in school? Conversations and listening will also be practiced. Your child will also identify, talk about, and respond to feelings. Unit activities include: building a playground with blocks, writing with feeling, and pretending to visit the community library. We will read the following books: David Goes to School by David Shannon Little Quack by Lauren Thompson Chicka Chicka Boom Boom by Bill Martin, Jr. and John Archambault

Thank you for your support,

The Pre-K Team
