Latest Updates from DREAM

Last updated Nov 17, 2021

  • Effective Monday, November 15, all symptomatic vaccinated students will now be able to return to school with a negative rapid test, as long as they are feeling well enough to go to school. As always, we encourage students to stay home and take care of themselves if they’re not feeling well enough to come to school. Why are making this change? Since the start of the 2021-22 school year, vaccinated staff and students accounted for 0% of student COVID cases and less than 1% of staff COVID cases - and 99% of our full-time and part-time staff are vaccinated. Additionally, the accuracy of rapid tests with symptomatic people is high. Making this change means being able to continue to keep our buildings staffed and maximize our students’ learning, with little risk to our community’s safety. You can find more information and FAQs in an email sent Fri, Nov 12.

  • First Day of School: It gives us great joy to write that on Monday, August 30, all DREAM students will return to our buildings to begin the 2021-22 school year—in person and every day. We’ve been working and planning for months to ensure that we can meet this moment—and we are confident that just like last year, our policies and practices will keep all of us safe. Please visit this page of the Family Hub to view this year's school calendar & list of key dates . You can also find our 2021-2022 Family Handbook HERE and Family Contracts for this school year HERE.

  • Mott Haven Enrollment: We’re still enrolling for Grades K-2 and 6 at DREAM Mott Haven. If you know anyone in the Bronx who’s looking for a school like DREAM, let them know that the quickest and easiest way to learn more and apply is to check out www.wearedream.org/enroll, or email motthaveninfo@wearedream.org and let us know they’re interested.

  • State’s Emergency Rental Assistance Program: We want all DREAM families to be aware that applications are now open for the state’s Emergency Rental Assistance Program. You can find a primer on what you need to know here, and you can apply here.
