In an effort to ensure clear and transparent communication regarding all the latest at DREAM, below you will find a running list of COVID announcements. We will be keeping this page up-to-date in real time, allowing you to check this resource often and with confidence.

April 2021

April 22, 2021

  • A member of the EHMS community has tested positive for COVID-19. At this time: anyone with a positive COVID-19 test will not return to the school and will be safely separated until they are no longer infectious; anyone who had close contact with the individual will be quarantined; and classes for all others will continue without interruption.

April 9, 2021

  • A member of the EHES community has tested positive for COVID-19. The affected individual is a member of the same household as the case we announced yesterday. At this time, we do not have reason to believe that there is spread within our community. At this time: anyone with a positive COVID-19 test will not return to the school and will be safely separated until they are no longer infectious; anyone who had close contact with the individual will be quarantined; and classes for all others will continue without interruption.

April 8, 2021

  • A member of the EHES community has tested positive for COVID-19. At this time: anyone with a positive COVID-19 test will not return to the school and will be safely separated until they are no longer infectious; anyone who had close contact with the individual will be quarantined. DREAM East Harlem Elementary School will reopen for in-person learning as planned following Spring Break on Monday, April 5.

March 30, 2021

  • Members of the EHMS community have tested positive for COVID-19. At this time: anyone with a positive COVID-19 test will not return to the school and will be safely separated until they are no longer infectious; anyone who had close contact with the individual will be quarantined. DREAM East Harlem Middle School will reopen for in-person learning as planned following Spring Break on Monday, April 5.

March 30, 2021

  • A member of the EHES community has tested positive for COVID-19. At this time: anyone with a positive COVID-19 test will not return to the school and will be safely separated until they are no longer infectious; anyone who had close contact with the individual will be quarantined. DREAM East Harlem Elementary School will reopen for in-person learning as planned following Spring Break on Monday, April 5.

March 25, 2021

  • Two members of the DREAM Mott Haven school community have tested positive for COVID-19. Out of an abundance of caution, our school building at 411 Wales will close for an initial 24 hours to investigate the source(s) of transmission and determine whether there is a link between the two cases. This is merely a precautionary measure—at this time, we do not have reason to believe that there is spread within our community. DREAM Mott Haven will reopen for in-person learning as planned on Monday, April 5.

March 19, 2021

  • A member of the DCHS community has tested positive for COVID-19. At this time: anyone with a positive COVID-19 test will not return to the school and will be safely separated until they are no longer infectious; anyone who had close contact with the individual will be quarantined; and classes for all others will continue without interruption.

March 17, 2021

  • A member of the DCHS community has tested positive for COVID-19. At this time: anyone with a positive COVID-19 test will not return to the school and will be safely separated until they are no longer infectious; anyone who had close contact with the individual will be quarantined; and classes for all others will continue without interruption.

  • A member of the EHES community has tested positive for COVID-19. At this time, no close contacts have been identified, and all classes will continue without interruption.

  • A member of the EHMS community has tested positive for COVID-19.   • A member of the Mott Haven Elementary School community has tested positive for COVID-19. At this time: anyone with a positive COVID-19 test will not return to the school and will be safely separated until they are no longer infectious; anyone who had close contact with the individual will be quarantined; and classes for all others will continue without interruption.

February 24, 2021

  • A member of the DREAM community has tested positive for COVID-19. Based on all available evidence, the affected individual was in remote mode and away from any DREAM staff, students, and families during a period when the virus was transmissible, as determined by the CDC. At the time, no close contacts have been identified, and all classes will continue without interruption.

February 8, 2021

  • A member of the DREAM community at 1991 Second Ave. has tested positive for COVID-19. At this time: anyone with a positive COVID-19 test will not return to the school and will be safely separated until they are no longer infectious; anyone who had close contact with the individual will quarantine for at least 10 days; and classes for all others will continue without interruption.

  • A member of the Pre-K community has tested positive for COVID-19.
